Volunteering presents great opportunities to make new friends and increase your support network in Williamsburg. If you see people on a regular basis, it’s easier to develop relationships with them. Attend our weekly lunches or happy hours, help to raise money for children’s charities, participate in our events and meet new people. Two of our members met through our club and married!

Dedicating time to a cause like helping children can give you a new direction and focus, which can also take your mind off your troubles while keeping you mentally stimulated. In our club, you can read to elementary school kids with Head Start, help raise money for a children’s charity, play games with kids, cheer on kids arriving for a picnic, and much more. Some members have claimed Kiwanis saved their lives because it kept them busy when they were depressed and struggling.

Studies have shown there is relationship between happiness and volunteering, which is particularly valuable in seniors. Plus, volunteering is linked to lower rates in depression and anxiety and increases your support network. Participate in our fun events, like the Shrimp Feast, Golf Tournament, Pickleball Tournaments, Williamsburg Christmas Parade and more.
